For seniors, scaling down to a smaller residence or a
more
supportive housing environment is a rite of passage that is often
fraught with stress and feelings of being overwhelmed by difficult and
sometimes painful decisions and mountains of detail.
Reluctance to impose on loved ones (even if one is
lucky
enough to have them on the same side of the continent) adds to a sense
of frustration and paralysis. The result is usually delay in initiating
actions that are required to maintain and even improve one’s quality of
life, sometimes with unfortunate consequences for mental and physical
health.
